A Trans with a difference… your opportunity to give something back....

At the beginning of each trip, everyone needs to contribute a minimum of 100 pounds to our community chest. It's literally a 'chest' from which we can support needy projects or people.

Before leaving home, spend some time on the net looking for deserving charities, interesting sustainable tourism projects, and good programs that you think you might like to help along the way. We are looking for places we can preferably get our hands dirty and involved for a couple of days at a time...painting a school or building something...who knows what is possible?

We are not promising that we will definitely work with the projects you suggest - but hey, twenty heads are better than a few…

  • What can you do before starting the Trans?
Find Charities, find out how we can get
involved, preferably get our hands dirty!
  • Tell your friends what you will be doing - get them inspired to give you money
Fund raise, get your friends involved, find new way to raise money.
  • We may be able to collect items of value (ie clothes) To take with us. (depending on truck space.
  • Please remember that the purpose of this trip is to primarily have a great holiday and adventure, but if we can give something back at the same time, its even better!

* NOTE We expect a minimum donation of 100 GBP for projects on the trip (if this money is not spent during the trip the remainder will be donated to a worthy cause to be decided by the crew/passengers.)

To consider the welfare of local people does not mean a less interesting holiday. Community-based tourism is founded on the belief that tourism can support local people, cultures, environment and economies while remaining exciting and enjoyable for travellers. The focus lays on getting into contact with people, communicating and worldwide understanding.
